Hello everyone! Welcome to my first blog! My name is Alley and I write and share about my own lifestyle changes and experiences in order to connect with you through sustainable and intentional living. I’m an eager 23-year-old who is looking to make some changes in how I greet each day.
“Living Light” is about my journey to “lighten up” on my spending, my carbon footprint, clear out my closet, and lighten the load of what I own. This concept is similar to that of an “eco-minimalist” or the “art of simple living”. In calling this blog “living light” I’ve given a name to my own approach to these unique and inspiring worldviews.
I’m also quickly learning that this journey is also about connecting to the light found within me that has unintentionally been dimmed and ignored lately.

Here are a few questions about why I’m blogging and what I’m choosing to blog about:
Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
Accountability, eager to find people who are doing the same work on themselves and have a love for minimalism, and I already keep a journal…you won’t get to read that 😉
Why are you starting now?
Having recently graduated from undergrad and finished my first year of a professional job, I recognize that now is a great time to begin building life-long habits and mindsets. Starting with what I have now will ensure that I will continue living with intention, seek sustainable methods, and focus on minimal living. Just as any habit-building has to begin at some time, there is no better time than now!
What topics do you think you’ll write about?
- Eco-minimalism
- Sustainability
- Intentional Living
- Spirituality
- Home
- Self-care
Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
Anyone who wants to follow a journey of self discovery and learning. Young professionals, future graduates, spiritual beings and anyone who can benefit from living light. Eager future environmentalists, minimalists, and activists!
If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?
A message well sent and a woman renewed to take on life because she has mashed her values with her living. Now, the writer hopes she can keep on living a lighter lifestyle.
A community that holds one another accountable and wants to continue living with less, become conscious consumers, care for themselves and others well, and lean in to sustainable living!
A couple mistakes, because that is what leads to learning.
